Meet the Maker: Super Awesome Sylvia

How many people can say they have met President Barack Obama, presented at a TEDx Conference and medaled in a Robogames? Sylvia Todd is only 11 years old, but she has accomplished all that and more. Sylvia’s fame began with her YouTube series, “Sylvia’s Super-Awesome Maker Show!” for MAKE Magazine. The episodes feature Sylvia demonstrating how to make projects from screen printing to paper rockets and have more than 1.5 million views.

Don’t miss Sylvia’s demonstrations of her WaterColorBot at Maker Faire: Kansas City. Sylvia exhibited the watercolor-painting robot at the 2013 White House Science Fair and the 2013 Robogames, where she won a silver medal in the Arbot- Painting Category. Catch Sylvia with young maker Joey Hudy in Science City on Saturday, June 29 at 5 p.m. and on the speaker stage on Sunday, June 30 at 12:45 p.m.
