Dear Friend of Maker Faire: Kansas City,
It’s time to get ready for Maker Faire: Kansas City, June 29-30 at Union Station, where hundreds of makers will exhibit to thousands of visitors for this second annual Kansas City Maker extravaganza!

Maker Faire: Kansas City is growing this year to include dedicated zones for Young Makers, crafts demonstrations, foodies, PowerWheels racing, and more, and we need you and your creative, innovative projects to be a part of this exciting event!

What is Maker Faire?
Maker Faire events across the United States are celebrating a DIY/homegrown invention movement. Whether it’s a home-built robot, video game, handbag, miniature race car, musical instrument, or sustainable micro garden, Maker Faire showcases all that is creative and innovative in our community.

When and where is Maker Faire: Kansas City?
Saturday, June 29, 2013, 10 am – 7 pm
Sunday, June 30, 2013, 10 am – 5 pm

Who should apply for a Maker Faire: Kansas City booth?
Local, regional, and national groups, clubs, individuals, schools, universities, and hobbyists who can demonstrate or actually show the making of their invention/craft/project in a contained booth setting.

NOTE: Young Makers ages 16 and under must have parental/guardian permission and complete permission form in Step 2 of application to exhibit at Maker Faire: Kansas City 2012.

What does it cost to exhibit?
Applicants who are chosen by a review panel to participate will receive a 10’x10’ display booth at no charge. Those applicants who also wish to offer their inventions/crafts/artwork for sale at Maker faire: Kansas City may be asked to pay a fee for their booth space (see application for details).

How many Makers will exhibit?
Union Station is equipped to handle upward of 400 booths inside and on the surrounding grounds. Each booth will be allowed up to 5 exhibitor badges.

How many people will attend Maker Faire: Kansas City?
With excitement of last year’s event spreading throughout the community and the region, Union Station expects more than 10,000 visitors to experience Maker Faire: Kansas City this summer.
